Guidance Class on Bore-Well Recharge

India being an agrarian country Indian farmers mainly depend on ground-water for irrigation. Due to growing population, fast urbanisation, deforestation and industrialisation bore-wells (Tube-wells) around us are drying to death. Water scarcity is being recognised as a grave threat for future generations.
Considering the importance of bore-well recharging techniques, one day guidance class was arranged at KVK in collaboration with Urdhavam, Pune on 14th May. Shri Vinit Phadnis, Director of Urdhavam spoke about new technology developed at Urdhvam Research Centre for bore-well recharging.
He said that it requires neither huge investment nor any space for civil construction. It is a unique technology which helps harvesting rainwater from the topmost, seasonally replenishable unconfined aquifers. Bore charger makes the bore-well highly sustainable by recharging the deeper confined aquifers. It is possible as they perforate existing borewell casing pipe from inside. This system potentially revives existing, failed and low yielding borewells. In the afternoon session Shri Pranit Daphale, Senior Technician of Urdhvam demonstrated technical functioning of patented bore-well recharge process. Thirty eight farmers took advantage of this guidance class.

An Exemplary Act Of Just Married Couple:

There could be no better start for a just married couple than contributing their share for social cause. Doing something selflessly for some constructive work gives you a feeling of satisfaction incomparable with any worldly pleasure. More over it puts forth an exemplary model before others to go beyond self and serve society.
It is a short story of a young couple from Katakalamba of Kandhar Block. Mr. Omprakash Kolgire and Mrs. Minakshi Kolgire both working at the Secretariat of Maharashtra Government wedded on 28th April.   Anticipating severity of water crisis their village has been facing,  on the next day they were seen labouring at  soil and water conservation worksite started in their village by S.S.M. .  Besides they dedicated Rupees 2500/ in people’s contribution to raise funds for project work. Indeed it is an exemplary behaviour that every youth should practise.
Another philanthropist Mrs. Sunita Panpatte, wife of Mr. Sambhaji Panpatte( Deputy-Commissioner of Mira Bhaindar Municipal Corporation) donated Rupees 11,000/ for this public work. A good deed may not change the world but certainly it changes your attitude toward the world. Such kind deeds motivate us to go ahead tirelessly.
